Biography of Andy Horning from Horning for Congress
Andy Horning is a Christian, married to his soul mate, has four sons and one daughter. He has worked in cardiovascular healthcare since 1979, in research, clinical and industry/product development and education roles. A former cartoonist, Horning also does medical illustration and has taught anatomy, physiology and ultrasound physics. Andy works from his small farm in Freedom, Indiana.
It was at least partly his work in the heavily, mindlessly, counter-productively legislated and litigated field of healthcare that drove him, in the late 1980’s, to reexamine what he’d been taught about the government’s proper role in our lives.
That reexamination, and a study of both America’s history and “Austrian School” economics, lead him to libertarian political philosophy. He has since earned a reputation as a principled Libertarian activist, writer, public speaker and political candidate committed to the Rule Of Law under existing state and federal constitutions, as written.
He has been a weekly columnist for Indiana’s largest daily newspaper, and an Adjunct Scholar with the Indiana Policy Review Foundation. His columns and opinion letters have appeared in over 25 newspapers in Indiana, and even others around the nation, including the Houston Chronicle, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
None of the above should be enough information for you to vote on, however; so ask your questions.
Please consider going to public forums. If there’s not one in your area, see if you can organize one.
Hiring a congressman should be no less intensive than hiring anyone else. You should do job interviews. You should make sure your questions get answered satisfactorily.
Because we already have the government We The People have chosen. We should consider changing what we’ve been doing!
(2012) Biography of Andy Horning from Horning for Senate Committee via email.
Andy Horning, BA, RDCS, was born in Indianapolis on the last day of spring in 1958. He did not fit comfortably in our government school system; it was more in spite of it than because of it that he found himself in a career in cardiovascular healthcare; in research, clinical and industry/product development roles. He has helped develop several medical imaging devices and medical workflow systems, and he’s authored/coauthored several clinical papers. His book on Stress Echocardiography has been printed in 8 editions, and has been used in CME-accredited medical education courses. Until our politically-mediated economic crisis ended his consulting business, Andy was self-employed from his farm in Freedom, Indiana, working for clients from around the world.
It was at least partly his work in the heavily, mindlessly, counterproductively legislated and litigated field of healthcare that drove him to reexamine what he’d been taught about the government’s proper role in our lives.
That reexamination, and a study of both America’s legal history and “Austrian School” economics, lead him to the Libertarian Party, and earned him a reputation as a principled activist, writer, public speaker and political candidate committed to the Rule Of Law under existing state and federal constitutions, as written.
He has been a weekly columnist for Indiana’s largest daily newspaper, and an Adjunct Scholar with the Indiana Policy Review Foundation, whose columns and opinion letters have appeared in over 25 newspapers in Indiana, and even others around the nation, including the Houston Chronicle, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
Andy still works from a home office in the development and implementation of medical workflow and imaging software. Because he is no longer self-employed, his work requires fairly extensive travel, and mostly because his wife Wendyl should be canonized for her past sufferings, Andy will try to keep a firmer line between his career, his home life, and his candidacy for US Senate.
